Wonderful Wreath for The Paper Players

It's Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players. This week, the lovely Jaydee has a sweet and simple sketch for us.  I wanted to play with a few of my Holiday Catalog preorder items, so out came Wonderful Wreath, Truly Grateful, and the Expressions Thinlits Dies.  The resulting card is a wee bit country and fun to make!  I hope you enjoy it!

The Stampin' Schach Design Tips:  A Country Christmas Card
This finished card measures 5-1/2" wide by 4-1/4" long.
  • Woodsy chevrons! Don't you love the look of the Chevron image from Truly Grateful?  Inked in Baked Brown Sugar, the result reminds me of wood planking. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the images perfectly.
  • Snippity snip! Although you can use the Circles Collection Framelits Dies to quickly punch out the Wonderful Wreath image, I opted to snip it out. A little Soft Suede ink applied with a Sponge Dauber softens the edges, while Pearls add a little pizzazz.

  • Very merry! A Cherry Cobbler "Merry" Thinlit is the perfect sentiment to nestle upon the wreath.  In order to remove the thinlit easily, I placed a piece of wax paper between the card stock and the die.  It works like magic.  My adhesive of choice for adhering Thinlits is Stampin' Up!'s 2-Way Glue Pen. I simply "paint" the back of the Thinlit, and it's ready to go!

So what do you think? A little bit country? Won't you let me know in today's comment?  Your comments are important to me. Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time...

Absolutely beautiful! The pearls were unexpected - well not that you used pearls, but as holly berries. So cool. BTW I have some very intricate butterfly dies (not SU) and I put two layers of waxed paper when cutting and if I'm careful I wind up with beautiful "ghost" butterflies as an added bonus. Anyway, lovin' this card. Can't wait till you get home (and your luggage too) and blog some more : )

I am truly in love with this card! It is a little cooler and less humid today - boy, I could have spent all day looking at this card last week with that heat index in the triple digits. The rustic chevrons remind me of old barn wood. That wreath is stunning with your snipping and coloring. I knew there would have to be pearls on there someplace. Perfect! Love the Merry across it too. All in all, a perfect touch of country charm! Love it! Have a safe trip home from the convention. We want details on the blog!

What a beautiful card! The wooden background is so well done that it looks like a weathered cabin. Of course the pearls so add to the wreath, and the Merry is such a happy word. Leaving this week for my annual stamping retreat. We are going to a Crafting Cabin in WI. Hope the weather cools and the rain stays away. Dar

Love your card. Thanks for all the info on how to use the thinlit sies. I have been torn on buying them simply because I didn't know how easy they would be to use. You gave such a wonderful idea on getting the cardstock off the thinlit. THANKS!

Ann, you rocked the challenge. I love the stamped background - it's perfect for that beautifully decorated wreath and the merry in cherry is perfect! You added so much detail and yet it is still beautifully CAS. Your pearls are perfectly placed!
