"Where's My Mommy?"... Lexi Lou's First Post

Today is one of those days when I am filled with happiness, yet sadness, too!  I have started my journey to beautiful Salt Lake City and the Stampin' Up! Convention! I am thrilled to re-connect with so many of my demonstrator friends, yet I am saddened because I will be away from The Twins and Lexi.  I have only been away from Lexi once, overnight...and I am worried about her since I will be gone for nearly a week.  Here is how I imagine the conversation will go on that first day, complete with old and new pictures of her.

Lexi: Muppy?  Bwodee? Where's my mommy? I have wooked for her everywhere and can't find her.

I wooked under this chair, and she's not there.  Will you help me wook for her?
Muffy:  Lexi, please.  I am trying to get some beauty sleep here.  I have to work really hard to look this good.
Lexi: Bwodee, will you help me?
Brody:  Lexi, I really need to nap. With you waking us up at 3:00 AM every morning just to go potty, I am so tired.  Go look some more. I'm sure you'll find her.

Lexi:  Mommy! Mommy! Are you in the back yard?

Did you go to the neighbor's yard?

Muppy and Bwodee, I can't find my mommy anywhere.  Pwease help.
Muffy: Oh, all right.  Come on Brody, help me look out the window for her.
Lexi, we don't see her anywhere!
Lexi: But who will sleep with me.  Momma always sleeps with me.

Will I have to sleep under the chair by myself?

Will I have to sleep in my crate?

Will I sleep by myself on my pildow?

Will I sleep with you, Muppy?

Will I sleep with you Bwodee?

Where will I sleep?
Muffy:  How about with Dad!
Lexi:  OK. But where's my mommy?
Muffy:  Well, Lexi.  Every year she flies to Salt Lake City to the Stampin' Up! Convention.
Lexi:  She flies like a bird?
Muffy:  Well, not quite.
Lexi: And what's kunbenchin?  Is it like a dog show?
Brody:  Let's save that story for another day.  Come along Little Lexi!

Let's play Dog Pile on Mup... er Muffy!

Safe travels to everyone heading to "Kunbenchin"!  Until next time...

Hang in there, Mom....
Leaving our babies is always so heart-wrenching the first time. Lexi has some time to bond with the twins and....you have a week of sleeping past 3 a.m.! :) What a beautiful reunion you have to look forward to when you return, Ann.
Adorable story, beautifully illustrated by the way!!

Ahh, I feel for you Ann! I love Lexi's story and all the pictures. She is GROWING too. It's so hard to leave even when we know they are in such good hands. I leave for vacation in a few weeks and I've already been hugging mine and telling them I will miss them. I love to go but always grateful to return. I'm sure you will be in the creative fun zone and that should take your mind off of them. Have a super week!

I always look forward to your stories and am never disappointed! After teaching little ones for 33 years and reading thousands of childrens' books, your stories rank up there with the best! I truly believe you could have a new career. Not only do you create beautiful cards, but your stories are humorous, and so very endearing. Thanks for sharing your latest edition and have fun at kumbenchin!

Too sweet. I am sure you will be thinking about the furbabies a lot. My hubby and I took a trip to Maine in June and we were constantly thing about our furbabies.
Safe travels and have lots of fun at the convention.

Oh Boy - Can they come and stay with me. My mom's not going to the kanketchen - she has to stay home and do laundry! Pleeeeeze can they come stay with me! We can all sleep on top of my mom all night. Of course that would be 4 dogs on top of MY mom - maybe you better stay with your dad!

Hope you have a FABULOUS convention. Looking forward to your posts about it. Blessings and happy stampin' convention joy!

Are you sure you did not teach creative writing? Maybe you should consider writing a children's book with the twins and Lexi and as the characters. Your photos would make wonderful illustrations. D

As always, puppy posts make me smile. Just think of the reaction when you get home - so worth the time spent at konbenchin. Have fun.

My computer wouldn't let me open the post from my E-mail so I was bound and determined to get to see the fun photos. By golly I got through finally. Worth the hassle. Just too much fun and too cute. Gee, I wonder how much she will grow while you are gone? I am sure Lexi will be in good hands/paws until you get back. It will be over too soon for you.
