It's Sunday and time to play at The Paper Players! This week, the oh-so-talented LeAnne is hosting a Clean and Simple "Wordsmith" Challenge...use a sentiment, poem, or verse as your main element! What fun! I selected a quote by James Taylor from the "From My Heart" set. I will admit that I was a big fan of James back in the day...and I still am! And yes, there is an "oops" here. I made my card a little dirty. Yep, I pulled out the Color Spritzer, Sponge Dauber, and Water Spot stamp. I just totally missed the "clean" part. Shhh! It can be our "dirty" little secret...
The Stampin' Schach Design Tips: "Dirty" and Simple Vintage
Today's card measures 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".
- Vintage texture! The Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a vintage, romantic delight! And what can be easier than zipping it through the Big Shot along with Very Vanilla card stock!
- Bejeweled! Basic Pearls add class and elegance to the Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Adorning Accents Edgelit!
- Sentimental journey! Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Markers were used to ink up the sentiment. The "enjoying" section of the image was inked again in Soft Suede. After snipping it out, it was popped up on dimensionals and positioned onto the base. An Apothecary Accent Framelit was used to cut it out. The paper piercing was easy, courtesy of the template in the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.

I just love this card! While it might have some sponging and spritzing, it still has the CAS spirit with your great layout. The embossing on the base adds wonderful texture. It's a beauty, Ann!

I like it! When I was at UNC, James Taylor's Dad was Dean of the Medical School there, and James had just come out with "Fire and Rain". That was the only song I heard that whole semester. Brings back memories.

Your gorgeous card will remain our dirty little secret for sure! Not! Love the colors. Have a fabulous time at Convention; looking forward to sharing time upon your return! We got hit with a torrential downpour this a.m.; the bedroom window well in the basement looked like a very dirty aquarium and proceeded to drain into our basement along with multiple other entry spots. Did I not remember that I said I would NOT live in another house with a basement before!! How could I have forgotten!! It is such a reminder of the folks whose homes are seriously flooded. Just tell everyone one of dogs sneezed on it! Or, a little more elegant - the champagne bubbles popped on it! Sounds much more fun than "dirty" which, of course, is just antiqueing! This is just a fun card from all the fun details and textures, to the quote and the colors.
