It's Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week we have a theme challenge for you...Christmas in July! So get a head start on your holiday cardmaking and join in the fun! We can't wait to see what you create! As for me, I wanted to incorporate some non-traditional holiday colors. I grabbed a scrap of Pool Party and Riding Hood Red Plaid, from the Storytime Designer Series Paper Collection. Left over from working on yesterday's card, this pattern gives the card a retro-country feel. Combined with silver embossing, the result is what I call "country elegance"! Enjoy!
The Stampin' Schach Design Tips: Country Elegance
This card measures 4-1/4" wide x 5-1/2" long.
- Embossed with bling! Add an elegant touch by heat embossing the new Star Tree stamp with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. Basic Rhinestones colored with a red permanent marker are the perfect adornments!
- Add a banner! "Christmas cheer" from the Sweet Essentials set was inked in Riding Hood Red and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. The ends were free-hand snipped to form a banner.
- Texture! One of the new Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders was zipped through the Big Shot with Riding Hood Red card stock. A snippet of Pool Party Seam Binding was added to provide contrast to the retired Riding Hood Red Pleated Ribbon which enhances the oval.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. I now have a total of TWO holiday cards completed. How about you? Have you started on your holiday cards yet? Won't you let me know in today's comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them. Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use...I am only an email away! Until next time...

Beautiful Christmas card! I love this tree and the wonderful red ornaments on it.
I have this stamp coming Thursday. Might just have to CASE this one! Thanks!
Beautiful, as always. You really showcased that stamp! I have my sister's holiday cards designed but nothing made yet. Thinking of doing all different ones this year for me, instead of all the same - exercise some of those old stamps : )
Gorgeous card and love how you done the ribbon around your oval. Really sets that embossed tree of nicely.
With the holiday coming up; wishing each and everyone an enjoyable and safe 4th of July

Beautiful card, Ann! If I don't go outside and then turn the AC down, I can pretend it is not mid-summer with temps over 100 degrees. I can almost smell Frasier fir!
I love non-traditional colors for Christmas. The tree stamp is so pretty and your added bling really makes it a stand-out.
I've thought about my Christmas cards :)
This is beautiful!
SO CUTE! Love that you used a "not" Christmas paper for a Christmas card - AWESOME!!!
This is so great, love the dp and the new tree. Fabulous design
Love what you do with paper and scissors Ann! Need I say more....
This is just beautiful! I love the ribbon around the oval! And I love the non-traditional colors and that cute DSP! I am going to a shoebox swap in a couple of weeks and will be making a Christmas card for my card so I will have my first one then!
this is so pretty Ann-I love the non-traditional colors you used-great choice of plaid dsp-I think plaid always looks good on a Christmas card
Ann how pretty is that! LOVE the blingy tree and the pleated ribbon is a WOW factor. This looks fabulous and how about pool party for Christmas... who'd a thunk! hugs.
oh, Ann. such a delightful & patriotic card! tfs...
When I first saw the stamp - I thought of you and coloring rhinestones or pearls for it! Never would I have thought you used that blue but it works so well! I love that plaid with the tree. Love that pleated ribbon around it - perfect as well as that perfect sentiment - not too fussy but just right! Great job as always!

It's a lovely card, Ann! The ribbon really sets off the image.
And what is scary is that Christmas will be here before we know it the way time flies! I think I have a couple of cards made already too that I completed after my 2011 cards were in the mail.
You are way ahead of me Ann. Your card is beautiful. Love the colours, Pool Party and the Riding Hood Red together.
Ann, this card is awesome and love the color choices especialy the bling and all the details to the tree.
Love this card Ann. You used a great mix of colors. I have quite a head start for Christmas with at least 25 cards done - I've been doing a weekly Christmas card challenge and missed only the first week. I know I'll be glad when December rolls around.
Beautiful Ann! Love the elegance and country feel your cozy card has. Pretty dsp and love all the ribbon as well as this color combo. Your two cards ahead of me, I'd better get started huh. lol!
Wow, what a way to start off Christmas in July! Love your card! I'm a new follower from SC, my blog is at http://stampitupwithkatie.blogspot.com if you'd like to follow me back :)
This looks fabulous with all that pleated ribbon around the tree image! Simply stunning work!
No, no Christmas cards yet. I have to get through the church bazaar in Oct. first. This is a really "cool" card, Ann. And we all need all the cool we can get right now, don't we?
Beautiful Ann! Don't you just hate that the pleated ribbon is gone? Just went through your blog as I've been traveling a lot for our business. You got a new puppy...congrats! Wow, you must have your hands full, where do you find the time to stamp?
Ruffles, textures, banners and pearls! *sigh* This is one fabby card, my friend! The color combo rocks ad the Pool Party is a great holiday color. I think that color is perfect for ANY occasion, actually. Love it! Hpe you had a great weekend! Hugs to the Boxer trio! :)
So bright and cheery, Ann! I love all of the bling! The red pleated ribbon frames the tree beautifully, and the rhinestones colored red really make the tree sparkle. As usual, you always find a way to emphasize and tie all of the colors together. Love the blue ribbon over the embossed strip of paper! Great design!
Wow!! Love it! The colored rhinestones are an added attraction that really makes your card sparkle!
Love the "country elegance" Ann! Your ribbon frame, sparkly tree & 3D banner look amazing. :)
Love the Star Tree - and its extra sparkle! Adding Pool Party to a holiday card gives it such a perfect pop of color! That DSP also went on my order list after seeing your last two cards!
Oh my word, Ann! This is absolutely gorgeous! I love that you coloured the rhinestones! Brilliant! Never think to do that with a permanent marker! Thanks for the tip! The ruffled ribbon around your image is wonderful as well. Gorgeous holiday card! Thanks for the inspiration!
Gorgeous! I may have to CASE this for my upcoming stamp club....minus the ribbon trim, of course, or we'd be there all night! LOVE the rhinestones; I can never get mine red enough....I need to try a different marker, I guess. Love the embossing and my favorite plaid paper!!!
Gorgeous as always Ann - love the colour combo you've used and that pleated ribbon around the oval looks amazing! I'm so glad I get to be on the DT with you - love your style so much!
LOVE the plaid paper ... does SU have any other plaids? I think I need to order some ... :)
Such a pretty tree! And I love all those glorious red pleats!
Soooo pretty!! That tree stamp is wonderful and looks amazing with the added bling!!
How pretty! I am sure I will be casing this one.
Ann, you are solely responsible for me adding this stamp to my order this week! This card is stunning and I love the little bit of bling. So glad you shared this card and showed how beautiful it is.
Hugs
