It's Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and ever-so-sweet Nance Leedy has a delightful sketch challenge for us. I opted for a quick and easy card, letting the adorable Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper amp up the cuteness factor for me. I hope you enjoy today's card.
The Stampin' Schach Design Tips: Bright and Cute
This card measures 4-1/4" wide by 5-1/2" long.
- KISS! When using a busy and bright paper, like my favorite pattern from the Summer Smooches collection, Keep It Simple Sweetie! A simple image from the Bright Blossoms stamp set, framed in a Rich Razzleberry Oval Designer Frame, is just perfect when used with the coordinating Designer Series Paper. And don't forget to add a little bling in the form of Basic Rhinestones!
- Snip and Curl! Although I used "Get Well Soon" from Thoughts and Prayers, almost ANY sentiment would work well with this design. With a snip and curl, transform "blah" to "ah"! I simply free-hand snipped a "V" with Paper Snips on one end, and curled the other using the Round File from the Distressing Essentials Kit!
- Double the Delight! A double Daffodil Delight Seam Binding bow completes the card. Snip the tails completely off...keeping it simple!

Simply beautiful, of course! I do see a couple of your signature details. And I love the pairing of the two pieces of dsp you chose. I have seen way too many card with more than one of the busy papers from this collection and I like that you chose one busy and one calm pattern. So much easier on the eyes and easier to see what is actually on the card. You have done a magnificent job with this card. Thanks!

Just love all the bright colors! So fun & pretty. You could easily use this for any occasion. Do you find that the designer frames are difficult to use? I've resisted getting them so far since I've heard they can be a bit tricky. Thanks for sharing such a fun card today!

What a bright and cheery get well card even though it sort looks like an ET type creature in the vase! I had noticed that on someone else's card before. Must be the "eyes" to it! Love that bow! I guess I am going to have to try it sometime.

Definitely a KISS card, Ann! Love the colors and the Summer Smooches may soon become a new favorite DSP of mine. Love how you spotlighted the vase using the oval embossing frame. Miss seeing your blog posts - things have been crazy busy here... it's that time of the year for me again as I'm on the road for work and rarely home. :-(

Yuppers, this is absolutely "smooch-tastic", Ann! Look at those bright and fabby colors and I commend you on the free-hand "V" snip for the banner. What a beautiful use of the Summer Smooches DSP...it's such a great background paper. Love the oval frame and the Daffodil seam binding is so bright and cheery! I definitely love my Bright Blossoms stamp set!! And, my favorite part of the card has to be the giant scallops!
