The Stampin' Schach Design Tips: Masculine Vintage
This finished card measures 4-1/4" wide by 5-1/2" long.- Vintage Vignette! The Designer Oval Frame makes a perfect backdrop for a collection of vintage images! Music Notes from Nature's Pace, a sentiment from You're a Gem, and the Trumpet from Rue Des Fleurs form a wonderful cluster! Add a scrunchy ribbon, a Large Basic Pearl, and a Vintage Trinkets Brad, and the vignette is complete!
- Trumpet Fanfare! Toot your own horn by creating a unique designer paper pattern. I inked up the Trumpet image from Rue Des Fleur with Not Quite Navy ink and stamped away onto Naturals Ivory card stock. The result was perfect for a trumpet playing recipient!
- The Crowning Touch! Trinket Crowns look a little too flashy? I "smooched" mine with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to add an aged patina! And since this card will be hand-delivered at Easter brunch, I am not one bit concerned at adding the "Big Crown".
Stamp Sets: Rue Des Fleurs (W 125485, C 125487), You're a Gem (W 122268, C 122270), Nature's Pace (W 122660, C 122662); Inks: Early Espresso (119670), Crumb Cake (121030), Not Quite Navy (103008), Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker (120973); Designer Series Paper: Well Worn (122359), Everyday Enchantment (SAB 2012 Retired); Card Stock: Not Quite Navy (101722), Pool Party (122924), Certainly Celery (105125), Naturals Ivory (101849); Tools: Big Shot (113439), Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (119976), Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123130), Sponge Dauber (102892), Color Spritzer Tool (107066), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275), Extra-Large Oval Punch (119859), Paper Snips (103579); Glitz and Glam: Vintage Trinkets (118764), Trinket Crowns (121891), Log Cabin Smooch Spritz (119921), Large Pearls Basic Jewels (125577), Pool Party Seam Binding (125582)

What a great color combo and the card is wonderful, even with the bow!
Hi Ann! I love your card. Those colors look great together. The trumpets and musical notes are perfect for Brady. Congrats to him on his new position!! How exciting!! I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family.
Masculine or not, it is beautiful! And it will be loved even if weren't beautiful because it was made with love. My daughter always stresses out when making a card for me because I make cards. I always love them because I know she took the time and effort to show her love in a card. Even without the love this card is wonderful!
Happy Easter Ann & your family!
I knew this beautiful card must have been made for Brady even before I read that it was. Congrats to Brady. I am sooooooooo happy to hear he got the job. For him it probably won't feel much like a job as much as he enjoys music. He is perfect for this job.
Enjoy this day!
Happy Easter. The card is terrific and congratulations to Brady on his new position.
Ann I agree with you crumb cake is more masculine than pool party and for the life of me I cannot think of what you could use in place of the ribbon...maybe white baker's twine dyed crumb cake...still love the card too and congrats to Brady on his new position. U must be so proud of him!
Happy Easter to you and your family. Enjoy this special day with them. How are the twins?

Terry~
I think that if you used some Soft Suede or Crumb Cake to distress the ribbon it would tone the blue down and coordinate with the rest of the card.
Great card!
What a beautiful card! I think if you left the strip of Pool Party ribbon and changed the bow as you suggested, it would look nice. I have a question. What DSP did you use for your background? I can't place it.
Congratulations to you Brady.
Ann, I think the card looks great and such a wonderful color combination

Happy Easter
Ann, this is a gorgeous card! I love it!
Ann - this is gorgeous - so rich and elegant AND masculine all at the same time! :) Love these colors too!
Oh my gosh! I think this is one of the most amazing cards I have ever seen! Brady will absolutely love it. I am always amazed, enlighted, and completely WOWED by your creativity - even when the color combinations are not your ideal choice. I like the pool party ribbon on it. It has the "artistic" flair that "vintage" so often has.
Wow! Wow! Wow! You are amazing and such an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing!
I don't think a son would mind getting a card like this from his talented-cardmaking-mom! It's not FEMININE-looking;I'd say it's really gender-neutral.
That said, I don't think it's the pool party color so much as a soft bow that makes it "less-masculine"; perhaps a different less-gauzy ribbon? The bakers twine someone mentioned sounds good. Beautiful card, though! Happy Easter!
what a wonderful card, and yes, I do think it is masculine and fabulously vintage!!!! I LOVE your creativity Ann ~ Happy Easter and have a wonderful day :-)
I am not a fan of the pool party color anyway most of the time. But, since you want comments - maybe the almost navy for a bow or I do like the idea of the crumb cake and maybe distressed a bit with soft suede. The bow sort of mimics the "loops" in the trumpet. Or, how about some hemo stuff- do they use reeds like in saxaphones? Of course the crown is the "crowning" touch after you distressed it a bit! I know, you were expecting me to say that! I love the well worn paper with your trumpet background added - to me that is the focal point and I really love it! Though the little love life tag is very special too!
Have a great day. Keep us up on on Brody does at his show.

Anne your card's **perfect**! I know you're just beaming about your son getting this prestigious award; again, congratulaitons Brady on a hard earned & very deserving position!!!MANY people are so happy for you!
I LOVE this....I swooned when it showed up on the post....woohoo, what a gorgeous creation. Oops, it's supposed to be masculine...well, what a hefty creation! Is that a masculine term? I am sure your son WILL appreciate it! You do vintage so well!
I really like the touch of brightness the Pool Party ribbon gives the card. I also like the way you have incorporated several stamp sets and used the smooch spray on the crown. More great ideas for the rest of us to play with. Thanks Ann!
I love it! Your layers and details are fabulous! And every guy I know loves a Pool Party! Congrats again to Brady - have a wonderful Easter! Don't let those boxers chase the bunny!
Or a Not Quite Navy ribbon. I thought the trumpets and crown were perfect for Easter Sunday, too.
Love this card, absolutely stunning. Donna x
I think this is absolutely stunning, Ann! No one does vintage like you do. I love the smooch spritz to distress the crown. I really like the pop of color in the pool party bow. Congrats to Brady!
I love the entire card, the colors and why you made it, Ann! Congratulations to Brady!! Happy Easter!
Ann, firstly, congratulations to Brady what a wonderful honor. You must be an immensely proud Mom! He's going to love this card - bow and all. I love that you aged the crown, what a clever idea. The overall card is stunning and oh, so perfect for the talented recipient.
Happy Easter to you all.

this is such an awesome card-I am sure your son loved it-especially with all the personal touches you added-great color combo-just my thought I would probably forego the bow-that is if you had a re-do chance
As soon as I saw your card I thought of your son. As I read on I knew then it was made for him. Your card is very masculine and very beautiful. I think the pool party bow brings out the Not So Quite Navy great. Your son will love this card I'm sure. Congratualtions to your son for his huge accomplishment. You must be one very proud Mom. :)

I love that you made this card for your son--it is such a perfect representation of you that masculine or not, he will treasure it. I love all the masculine touches you added like the distressed ribbon, the waterspots and the patina on the crown is fabulous! How clever! Fabulous card Ann!
What a lovely card! Love all the elements and how they come together. I thought of Brady as soon as I saw it, he will LOVE it.
Ann I love this card! I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be for Brady. LOVE how you combined that trumpet with the music notes. Your crown looks FAB! I know he'll cherish this one with pool party bow and all too! hugs.
I love the card and congrats to Brady! Is his position in Columbia, Mo?
I live here and work at the University of Missouri. it's a great town to live in!
This is STUNNING! I'm sure Brady the Boy will just love it!
What a wonderful card for your son as you celebrate his fantastic accomplishment. I am behind with wishes, but hope you had a marvelous Easter. I am happy to say we were able to take my mother from the nursing home to my sister's for Easter dinner. Turning cooler here in IL the next few days--we sure got spoiled. Dar
Beautiful card Ann. Brady will love it, bow and all, because his mom made it for him. I do think a crumb cake bow would make it more masculine looking but the blue works just fine too.
This is STUNNING, Ann! What a beautiful color combo!
This is a BEAUTIFUL card Ann! I love the blues on this card! Oh, hence, the 'blues' plus 'trumpet' equals 'jazz'. That just popped into my head and my fingers typed it! LOL! Brady will cherish this card forever! You did a FABULOUS job! I love Pool Party and I'm so glad we have another year of that in our In Color! :)
Such a clever idea with all the trumpet images flowing across the card, along with the music notes images. I love everything about this card, including the pool party bow (LOVE that color).
I understand what you're saying about the bow not being as masculine as you'd like, but I imagine Brady embraced every bit of it because it was so lovingly made by his super proud Mom, in addition to it being a such a great design!
Love this card and all of the elements. Just beautiful!!!
Oh my word, is this ever beautiful, Ann! I love the richness of all of the navy as your primary color. The stamping, as always, is AAAHHH-MA-ZING! Congratulations to Brady! How exciting! I hope you had a fun Easter, friend! Hugs! :)
Such a stunning man card, as we all know they are sometimes hard to pull off but you did it so beautifully with the perfect vintage hues and crown accent. Just a beautiful card Ann!
simply gorgeous colors and detail.
hugs, m
Such a beautiful card with amazingly gorgeous detail!! I love that you have such a way with taking a little of this and a little of that to turn your cards into a work of art!
There is just no limit on your crafty talents!! Bravo, yet again!
Ann you blow me away with all of your amazing details. I can tell that every piece of this card was well thought out and made with love. And what a wonderful occasion to make a card for, you must be so proud. I just love that you added the Smooch spritz to the crown-brilliant!
I think you really nailed a perfect card for Brady, with the musical notes, trumpet and king's crown. It's a fabulous masculine card!
