Spice Cake for The Paper Players

This week the lovely Lesley is hosting a Happy Birthday challenge at The Paper Players.  I decided to feature one of my favorite Designer Series Paper on my card, by using two patterns from the Spice Cake collection.  I hope you enjoy today's fun to make card!

The Stampin' Schach Design Tips
  •  Frame it! Stampin' Up!'s new Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is perfect for showcasing an image OR an oval of Designer Series Paper.  I opted to focus on an oval of the Pool Party Country Pattern from the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper collection.
  • Flag it! Give any sentiment flair by flagging the end.  I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Family Reunion set.
  • Fussy cut it! This beautiful flower is snipped from one of the patterns of Spice Cake.
  • Finish with pearls! What could be more perfect than adding Basic Pearls to the Scallop Trim Border!

I hope you enjoyed today's card, and that you will join us in this week's challenge.  Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think.  Your comments are always important to me, and I do enjoy reading and responding to them.  Of course, if you ever have questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!  Until next time...

Woof, woof, woof (dancing and yipping wildly) yippee Brody's going to be OK yippee!!!!! Swoon - isn't he cute! :)))) Now be careful and don't break those stitches (listen to your older and not wiser girlfriend).

Oooo, I really like this one. I love the colors you've used. The spice cake dsp really is perfect for fall. The browns & turquoise are great together. Thanks for the tip about fussy cutting our dsp. Sometimes forget I don't need to just use it as my paper, I can use it for the details.

Your fussy cut flowers are DYNAMIC, Ann! Wow! I thought at first you had colored them, but either way, they're a hit with me. :)

Spice cake with carmel frosting is as yummy as your card is! You nailed it with the details! Amazing! Yrah, I missed that embossing frame folder thingy too. The pearls are just perfect on the scalloped edge and then middle of that fantastic flower! Is there anything else in the center of the flower or just the design? Simply stunning, love it!

Miss Muffy or Bordy needs a pearl studded turquoise collar and they would match this gorgeous card!

Ok, Ann!! You have to stop making these fabulous creations immediately! You are making the rest of us look bad! ;) This gorgeous work of crafty goodness ROCKS!! Perfect blend of patterns and pearls. Just so you know, I am NOT adding this stamp to my wish list...this month anyway. I don't know how it is that you can make EVERY stamp set you work with a "must have" in my book. Now, can you bottle and sell that "Schach-tastic" mojo of yours? :)

Patti said...

Beautiful card and choice of colors. That dsp is on my order list. You make me want it even more.

Mary said...

Ann, I love that you cut out a pattern from the DP and used it as one of your images. The colors of these papers are gorgeous. I can hardly wait to get my Spice Cake DP on Friday. Thank you for sharing your designer tips. I love the idea if flagging it. :)
