"Buried Treasure" is a weekly Friday feature here at The Stampin' Schach. What are "Buried Treasures"? They are cards from my archives which are deserving of a revisit. Whether it's a layout, a technique, or maybe just an underused stamp set, these cards are like a pirate's booty of ideas worth a second look. Today's card first appeared on The Stampin' Schach on November 19, 2009. Click HERE to see the original post with all of the delicious details!
Layout: This card has a layout that is perfect for showcasing Stampin' Up!'s variety of small image stamp sets. For the upcoming Halloween season, how about Spooky Bingo Bits or Batty for You. For a fall card, try Falling Leaves. Of course for winter, you just can't beat snowflakes! And there are lots of other options, too! Butterflies, bees, and blossoms...oh, my!
Technique: I can never pass up the opportunity to use Stampin' Up!'s Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Think how yummy texture would look behind those four squares. Yowza! But if time is of the essence...you can't go wrong with Designer Series Paper!
Embellishments: If I were making this card today, we all know what I would put in the middle of the snowflakes. Do I even need to spell it out? It begins with "P" and ends with "earl". And for good measure, I would probably put one on the heart, too!
I have been asked by several people to show examples of my updated versions. I will "try" to give you an updated version on Mondays. Saturdays are The Paper Player sneak peek days and Sundays are The Paper Player reveals. But, I will try my hardest to post something on Mondays for you.
Having said all of that, there may not be a post Monday this next week. The Twins will be together again at the same show this weekend, and the Schach Family is going to be in attendance to cheer them on. Stamping time will be non-existent. Make it today you say? Hmmm...I will be back in the classroom for the first time since my retirement. It seems as if science substitutes are in demand, so I agreed to fill in for a day! What was I thinking!!!
Remember, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them. So please, won't you leave me a comment and let me know what you think about today's Buried Treasure. Of course, if you have a question about the cards that I create, or the techniques that I use, please EMAIL me. If you ask me a question in the comment section and your email address is not linked, I can't answer your questions. It makes it so much easier to respond to you when I have your email address! And I love answering your questions....it's the teacher in me! Until next time...
