Raining Butterflies for PPA105

Once in awhile a challenge comes along which is certainly challenging to me.  And that is the case with this week's Pals Paper Arts color challenge:  Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight.  Not my usual color palette, I must say.  And now that the challenge day is here...I can think of all sorts of awesome cards I could have made.  Isn't that the way it usually goes???

The Stampin' Schach Design Tips
  • Fancy Fan fan! Become a fan of the Fancy Fan letterpress plate! Just brayer a layer of ink over the surface of the plate, and zip it through the Big Shot.  Recreate an ink debossed look in the blink of an eye! I brayered Daffodil Delight ink and used Naturals Ivory card stock.
  • Fun flowers! Layer images from Raining Flowers and "pop" them up on dimensionals.  And what could be better than a Basic Pearl center!
  • Ruffles 'n Flourishes!  The new In-Color Ruffled Ribbon adds a sweet touch.
  • A bevy of butterflies! Pearl bedecked butterflies from three different stamp sets take flight!  All were inked in Island Indigo and stamped onto Daffodil Delight card stock.

I hope that you have fun with today's colors! And don't forget that my BLOG CANDY "Paper 'n Stamp Set" giveaway is continuing until tomorrow (Friday) at Midnight CST.  To see what is being offered, please CLICK HERE.  Your comment is your entry.  I would LOVE to hear what you think of today's card.  And as always, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time...

Stamp Sets:  Raining Flowers (W 122765, C 122767), Kindness Matters (W 122900, C 122902), Strength and Hope;  Inks:  Daffodil Delight (119667), Island Indigo (122937);  Designer Series Paper:  2011 - 2013 In-Color Paper Stack (122384);  Card Stock:  Naturals Ivory (101849), Very Vanilla (101650), Lucky Limeade (122926), Daffodil Delight (119683);  Tools:  Big Shot (113439), Fancy Fans Letterpress (123129), Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123128), Paper Snips (103579);  Glitz and Glam:  Basic Pearls (119247), Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon (122974)

I admit to cringing a bit myself when I saw the color combination. I am not good with Daffodil Delight; it just seems to take over when I use it.

I love all your butterflies! It was a great idea to use them from different sets. And that letterpress background? Yummy! Why didn't I order that?? :o)

Yes, that's how it happens for me too! Can't think of anything on the day you need to get that card done, then all sorts of ideas come *after*ward. Sheesh! Job well done, as always, though, Ann. Love that trail of different butterflie.

Ann I think this card is gorgeous! If you had challenges with the color combo it sure doesn't show! You make things go together with ease. I love your fan fan BG, however, I don't have the letterpress [which intimidates me to death], the flowers are beautiful especially with the pearl center, and the flock(?) of butterflies are FAB-U-LOUS! It feels like they'll fly right off the front. Love it. Hugs.

O.k. there is one in every crowd and I gotta say something! It is the butterflies - they look green on my monitor. You did them on another card and I thought the same thing. The rest of the card, I like though they are Michigan colors! Just kidding! I really like the flower! It is a colorful card and I could see where you would have other ideas later on it but it is fine except I just don't care for the butterfly colors. I had better watch it, I will be drummed out of the "pack" before I even make a card!
