A few day's ago, I shared one of my creative goals for this year: Design more masculine cards. Today I am going to share a second of my goals with you: Create more quick and easy cards.
The Stampin' Schach Design Tips:
- Rub-ons! The "Pattern Girls" in the Sweet Stitches Rub-On collection are perfect for watercoloring. I rubbed this sweet little girl onto Very Vanilla card stock, and then watercolored her with Blender Pens and the following inks: Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise. It's so easy!
- Coordination! Like all of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper, coordination is the key. Using the coordinated patterns and card stocks saves time...and looks oh, "sew suite"!
- Paper work! Make the Designer Paper work for you! Notice how the stitching and needle parts of the Sweet Stitches pattern paper become an integral part of the card's design.
- Glitz and Glam: Even quick and easy cards deserve a little bling! A coordinating Sweet Stitches Fabric Designer Brad adds interest and texture. Its placement anchors the sentiment and image. Three miniature Basic Pearls adorn the neckline of the dress and each of the shoes.
Yes...it was hard for me not to pull out the Color Spritzer Tool, Sponge Daubers, and Seven Sided Tool. I was out of my comfort zone for sure. But it was also fun to finish a card while watching Oprah! So what do you think of today's "Power Hour" card? Be sure to leave me a comment to let me know. And as always, if you have any questions about today's card or any of the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time...

Hi Ann,
I know what you mean when you say it takes most of the time just to come up with something, then click it is there. Your ideas pass what most of us are able to accomplish no matter how long we take to come up with something.
Thanks Ann!
Yvonne
Awww, this is darling! I love the idea of rub ons. Those gals amaze me too that just whip out a card, not this gal, lol!
This is so adorable! It does not look like a power hour card, it looks like it took some time, very nice.
Cute as cute can be --- love the pearls on the shoes!
Ann, my cards (even though simpler in design than yours) take me at least an hour or more, as well. I thought of myself when I read that you think and think and think, then have the 'click'. That's me, too.
Very nostalgic! The button is the perfect pop to this subdued ”Ann“ creation.
Love your card! So adorable with the button matching the DSP. And I will now be adding the rub-ons to my order as well ;D!!! TFS
Ann, I will share a little secret with you. The reason some of us whip out a quick card, is because we don't have the time to do other wise. I admire your blender pen techniques so much, but simply don't have the time to do that sort of thing very often. Here's hoping.
It doesn't make any difference if you spend one hour or all day, your cards turn out beautifully. Everything on this card works so well with each other. Great card.
What a sweet card Ann. The pearls add a perfect touch to this card and the needle with thread is such fun!
wow, you cropped that Sweet Stitches paper with perfection . . . the Ann Schach eye rules. What a fun, colorful card! Hugs, M
How cute is this!
LOVE the way the needle & thread work on the DSP... of course the precious pearls just make it all more 'girly' and can't wait play with the fabric brads.... soooooo wish I didn't have to wait for SAB...... it'll killing me. lol
Such a cute card and so colorful. Love it! I'd hate to say how much time I spent on a card yesterday and it was a very, very simple one in the end. I'm always envious of those who say they put together a card in 10-20 minutes.
I love it!
"Sew" Sweet and squeaky clean. :)
Ah, Darlene-Joy took the words right out of my mouth, well off the keyboard, or whatever!!!! My mom would have loved this card as she loved to sew all my dresses when I was little. Change the hair color to dark auburn and make the dress green, it could have been me! Anyway, this is such a fun card! I hadn't noticed the little pearls, silly me, should have known! Now, do I REALLY need this set and the other stuff too? Thanks for sharing, Ann!

Ann, this is DARLING!! Beautiful colors and I love the pop of yellow but my favorite detail? Those sweet pearl ballerina flats!!
This is adorable Ann! Love the bright bold colors and those fabric buttons are gorgeous! {SMILES}
adorable Ann! I almost used the sew suite collection for our blog hop. I had a hard time deciding but I'm enjoying lots of things from the new mini! What fun!
Oh I do love what you have done with this card. It is lovely. I hope that you found making a simpler card was quicker for you to deisn. As for me, making the simple cards that I make take me a lot of time during the design process becuase I do what you do. I re-think what I've done. What can I do to make it look better and that leads me to trying different things. In the end putting my cards together only take about 10 minutes but getting it right in my head and on paper can some times take me hours. If I made cards like yours it would take me days. LOL. I really love the details that you used on this card Ann.

Ann, your card is so adorable. I love it and especially your layout. Might have to CAS that. Hugs,
I love that you're going to be showcasing some 'quick and easy' cards. If it's too tough, though, for you to keep it simple, maybe you could show two versions--one simple and one with more glam.
Ann, you can even make "quick and easy" look amazing! Love how you used the dsp perfectly and the rub on looks great watercolored. :)
