Clean and classy! Vintage and distressed! Two looks with the same basic layout!
- Texture! The Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder was zipped through the Big Shot with Very Vanilla card stock.
- Distress! The Seven-Sided Tool from the Cutter Kit is the perfect way to roughen up an edge. Follow this up with Soft Suede ink and a Sponge Dauber!
- Age it! The Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker adds instant speckles! Faux burn and roll down a corner for even more character!
- Glitz and Glam! What could coordinate better with Cherry Cobbler card stock than Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, accented with Basic Pearls? And for a whimsical touch, add a pearl eye to the bird!
- Eye candy! A Scallop Punch Flower with an Antique Brad center balances the look!
It just so happened that I gave the original clean and classy card to my husband for Valentine's Day last year, so I am able to provide you with a side-by-side comparison of the two cards. How cool to see them next to each other!

This card is beautiful. I love the distressed look of it. What a change in style in just one year, amazing.
Great idea! I have a few cards that I have set aside to 're-do'.... maybe it's time to pull them out and have a stampin' make-over of my own. Thanks for the inspiration as usual! You rock! Many blessings-Tana :)

Awesome Ann! Love how you dressed up your card! They are both beautiful in their own way!
They both are so pretty, but I like the distress one the best.. That's my kinda look...I love anything that looks vintage..lol

Hi Ann,
what a beautiful card. Love it!!!
To see both cards in comparison, I would prefer the vintage one. Thank you for the explanation how to make this card.
I wish you and your little boxer twins a nice day.

What a great idea - love seeing the two cards together! Everyone loves a makeover! Great update!
both cards are beautiful ann-love love love the vintage card
Like them both but really love the one with the banner! I quickly read your header and read Depressing birds not distressing!hehe Michelle Mallett
I love your card, very nice.

Both cards are lovely Ann. With all the new products that are available now, the current card was really punched up with the embellishments and the vintage look.
Wow! Now that's an UPDATE! I think the new one goes much better with your current style. :)
Any hints on the best way to get that distressed curl on the edges of the paper? I have a thread cutter to rough up the edges, but I'm never sure where to go after that.
How cool is that?!?!? Great to see them side-by-side. Amazing how different the same card design can look. They are both gorgeous!
Wow!!! It is amazing to see all the changes that have happened in a year...besides me getting more gray hairs...LOL! I like both of them, but I absolutely LOOOVE the new, distressed version much better!! I'm a vintage, distressed kind of girl anyway....so I just love the things you did to make this card look AWESOME!!!
I loved your card last year but this year's card is much more to my liking too. All the little extras and the texture make it come to life. Good Job!
Both cards are great, but I like the vintage one the best. Of course I've always liked the distress look. The pearls add a touch of elegance to it as well.
I love the distressed card but I'll be more likely to make something similar to the second one since it appears it would take less time. Time is always short here. :) I have the bird punch and need to use it more.
They're both equally lovely, Ann. I am kinda preferring the 'cleaner' un-distressed bird. But you know what MY cards look like, right? I guess that's why I am leaning that way.
Mmmmm. Love 'em both but I hear ya about the new products...they are FABO! My list for the new mini is soooo long!
Great idea, Ann! And superb creations as I've come to expect from you. Another two winners!
Mike
Love 'em both~ but of course I love all these new products that make it so fun to play vintage! Great idea with the comparison!!
its amazing how our craft changes over time, u did a great job with both cards, my fav. is the new one though. its really pretty.
Both cards are pretty, but I OH SO love the version best. The seam binding and pearls are perfect, especially in multi size pears. LOVE your scallop circle flower with antique brad. Just Beautiful.
I love the "card from the past" but the current card is simply stunning! Gorgeous details and love how it's a non-traditional sort of valentine...the bird is pefect! {SMILES}
oOOpppsss my fingers weren't keeping up with mind... I meant to say Vintage Version.... dddaaahhh... lol
Great idea, I have a couple of my firsts that I wouldn't mind giving a redo to. Love the distressed look of course, beautiful!
I love the vintage look! SU has added so many fabulous goodies! Nice job!

Ann, I always think you can't improve one of your cards but you did it. You ratcheted this card up quite a few notches. Beautiful.
Stunning and fabulous! I especially like the distressed look card. You are just the best. Thanks for the inspiration and for blessing my day. :)
What fun to see the two cards together! The first one is nice but the new version is really kicked up a notch and totally me! Instead of clean and classy - it was more clean and crisp and that reminds me of ironing and that is not on my agenda! Also, the new version has a richer look with the vintage. Plus, it is all in the details! Thanks for sharing both versions with us!

Great way to show versatility!
Love both cards.
Hugs, M
oh I just love them both. The changes are so amazing though, it looks like a totally different card! Thanks for sharing.
Lovely update, Ann and a great blog post!
So beautiful! I love the update - it's such a fun idea to revisit favorites and create a more 'mod' version.
Just discovered your blog. Love your designs.
WOW I love the update. I have also found that as I stamp more, I not only use new products, but have learned new techniques. I need to revisit some cards and update. Great idea.
I love the vintage look of your card. Very pretty. Thanks for the inspiration.
What fun to see both cards! I use both styles, depending on the recipient, although my love is definitely more of a vintage, some distress type card! Thanks for sharing this fun comparison.
Love the side by side too. Both are so beautiful. Hugs,
I like both cards but in particular the distressed one. I just love those papers and how you have made that flower etc. The banner too is gorgeous!
I love the way you compared the 2 cards, how fun! I also love your Paper Players card......maybe someday I can add this challenge to my list. Too much on my plate right now! Congrats on the dog's graduation's! Sounds like your plate is quite full also!
Well, Ann, you KNOW that last year's card was one of my ALL-TIME favs of yours (I CASEd it!) and this time around you really did well, too! I love how you distressed and especially that top left corner above the li'l birdie! Exceptional!!
Ann, what a great idea updating a card and show casing both of them! It also shows how your style has developed over the year
hugs

Wow! It is amazing how trends change in just a year!! I, too, love vintage but both cards are so pretty. TFS this with us :D!!
Ann, this is a beautiful card! I'm trying to figure out how you made the scalloped rosette. Do you have directions?
I just love your vintage card. They are both gorgeous! Hugs, j
Very beautiful card, Ann.
Well first...congrats to the Grad! I'm surprised the little Beaut doesn't have their own Grad card!!! (oops maybe he does..) I love this vintage valentine. It looks like the bird pecked the corner! The tag looks so 3 D!
Is there a tutorial on this flower somewhere?
